Andrew Beck began his piping career at the tender age of 10 years old taking lessons from Bill Smillie.  He started down the Great Highland Bagpipe Competition path two years later with Northwest Indiana Pipes and Drums and quickly qualified as Champion Supreme at Grade III.  Changing his colors to the Midlothian Scottish Pipe Band in Chicago, Andrew earned his Grade I standing as a solo bagpiper by the time he was 17 years of age.  His piping skills have been recognized throughout the United States in Canada ( Ontario , Montreal ), and he teaches at the Milwaukee School of Pipes and Drums.  Now taking live performance to heart, Andrew fuses his rock and roll roots from the East Banks of Lake Michigan to tour and record with Tartanic full time. Or at least until Chippendale’s takes him off probation for the “incident” in Long Beach last year.
