Micah Babinski

Micah is 22 years old and joins Tartanic from the rainy streets of Seattle, Washington. He has been playing the pipes for 13 years and has won numerous awards in piping as a soloist and a band member. As a judge and an instructor, Micah has sought to spread his love for bagpipe music to children, youth and adults. As a competitor, Micah has competed in the highest grade for a number of years, and has played with the five time world pipe band champions, the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band. His compositions, including the hornpipe “Afternoon at the Green Monster,” have been played by top bands and soloists in recitals and on albums the world over. While not piping, Micah enjoys working as a Geographic Information Systems analyst, exploring the mountains of Washington, and struggling to master the bluegrass mandolin (not necessarily in that order).
